  4. at the time of the manual publication.

  8. Smart Business Plan 8.0 gives you the option of compiling your business
  9. and marketing plans in the following word processor applications if
  10. properly installed on your computer:

  12. >> Microsoft Word 97
  13. >> Microsoft Word 2000
  14. >> Lotus Word Pro 97
  15. >> Lotus Word Pro Millennium
  16.  
  17. You may also compile your plan in Smart Plan Editor word processor
  18. module included with Smart Business Plan 8.0.

  22. Smart Business Plan 8.0 safety module will prompt you in case of any
  23. problem with one or more of the files associated with the program.
  24. Such problems could occur after installation of other software on your
  25. computer.  In the event you receive such message, simply place the
  26. original Smart Business Plan 8.0 CD in your computer.  Double click
  27. on a file located on the CD labeled as "restore.bat", and follow the
  28. instructions displayed on the screen.

  32. If you are using Microsoft Word to view and edit your final business
  33. or marketing plans, we recommend you switch off the "Office Assistant"
  34. before compiling your plan.  To do this, start Microsoft Word and
  35. simply close the "Office Assistant's" window. To read more about the
  36. Office Assistant, please refer to the Microsoft Word help file.

  40. If you did not install the "Sample Plans" during the installation
  41. process, you may access them by selecting the "Samples" folder located
  42. on your CD.  Smart Business Plan 8.0 offers 10 Sample Business Plan
  43. and 5 Sample Marketing Plan documents for various business sectors, to
  44. assist you in preparing your final plan.  Samples are provided in
  45. Microsoft Word (.Doc), Lotus Word Pro (.lwp), and Smart Plan Editor
  46. (.cpd) formats.

  50. When you open a previously saved business or marketing plan documents,
  51. or one of the sample plans provided with the program in Microsoft Word
  52. or Lotus Word Pro, you may notice some lines around the table of
  53. contents and header/footers.  These gridlines will not be visible in
  54. the printed documents.  You can hide these gridlines from the "Table"
  55. menu provided in the above programs.
